La Artemisia was created to, first and foremost, bring herbal medicine back to the people and to reignite our innate connection to the natural world.
I seek to share knowledge about the relationship between plants and the self, so that people may find empowerment on their healing journey and live in reciprocity with the land.
My Philosophy
Hi, I’m Celine, The way I engage with plant medicine through my work at La Artemisia is based on animistic practices —the understanding that all living things have an animated, living spirit. It is my intention to treat every body and every plant with reverence, respect, and the acknowledgement that all beings are sovereign.
My work aims to bridge the traditional healing knowledge of the ancestors with our modern human experience to help guide us on this healing journey.
What is Herbalism?
Herbalism is an ancient form of medicine based on traditional knowledge of plants developed throughout generations of people and cultures around the world. Today, the practice of herbalism combines modern understandings of biochemistry and physiology, traditional knowledge, and ancient diagnostic tools to create a holistic understanding of healing. Plants are powerful allies used both physically and spiritually to help bring the body, mind, and spirit back into a state of harmony.

It is about creating deep relationship with the natural world. To be in relationship with all things, is to be in reciprocity as well. The plants give their medicine so abundantly, and we take care of them in return. The path of herbalism calls us to open our hearts and minds to the healing power within nature and within ourselves. We learn to listen: to the plants, the trees, the animals, and our bodies. After all, the earth is a part of us as much as we are a part of her.
